Iowa public campgrounds and cabins closed down


DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed a proactive order to further the spread of COVID-19. The proclamation this week orders all public campgrounds, cabins, yurts and playgrounds to close through April 30.

Director of Communications with the Department of Natural Resources Alex Murphy told KXCV/KRNW that throughout the closures state parks will remain open.

Visitors are asked to remain social distancing while at state parks and not to gather in groups.
